It's that time again

I can't believe it's just been over two weeks since I last updated. Everything seems to be kinda the same, except a little colder. Burrito Eater had a great update on how my Friday went. I won the big poker game, but by the third game I was tired of playing poker. Saturday I don't think I got out of bed, well maybe once or twice, but I was beat and needed to relax. Sunday was more of the same, met up with Kari and B-ren to do some Chili's action and that was great. I couldn't really tell you what happened the week before, it's kind of a blur. I'm having a hard time remembering what happened yesterday.

Not too much is new, trying to finish getting together a halloween costume for this weekend. I don't want to give it away (not that it's all that secret), but hopefully we'll have some good pictures from this weekend. Other than that, been pretty quiet on the homefront. Russ's fiancee (just kinda weird to say) is coming over Thursday for what I'm guessing will be the weekend. It doesn't sound like we'll get the usual game night, but hopefully something will be done.

You know it's kinda funny, I wasn't really planning on blogging today, but here we are. And to answer that question, Riz is currently dreading the work that *has* to get done asap and already thinking about the weekend!

Take care out there!

The weekend

Well, not a whole lot new to add. Friday I think I did something with Kari, maybe I just talked to her, I just remember going to bed early. Saturday was no fun as I slept the day away, I was still feeling a little under the weather, and passed on a wedding invite from Kari, just felt ill. Saturday I also reached a new low and saw what has to be the most disgusting video on the internet. It made even me a little nausious, which is not an easy feat.

Sunday was good, although it started off on the wrong foot. Saturday night (well, actually Sunday at just after 1 am, I was promised some breakfast the next day. Which would have included some waffles with peanut butter and some thick sliced bacon. God, that's good eats. Well, around 10ish, I got the call that breakfast was off, because of a previous engagement. Kari's grandpa had his birthday yesterday, so brunch was to be had at noon. Which is good, no offense to her other set of grandparents, but the spread is usually a little better. Kari had her cousin with her, he is a freshman at UW staying in Ogg hall. I told him to get into a real dorm like Sellery. Guh, those guys already have midterms (he's got two today). We had some good breakfast and juice and kind of just lounged about watching the packers play well. Eventually ended playing some sevensies (which Kari's grandma called 7-up) and some O' Hell. It was a good time, but then I had a bunch of laundry to do last night, which I did enough to get me by for a little bit, but I have a few more loads to go.

Just finished reading Burrito Eater's blog. He had a big weekend and sounds to be a pretty big week this week too. I know they're going to have a blast in Florida.

And stealing from his blog a bit...

I wonder how Hez's weekend was..... it looks like friday night was good.

Death warmed over

Well, at least I feel better. It started Sunday morning and lasted through vollebyall on Tuesday, then it took a turn for the worse. The itching in my throat jumped into my head and was out of commission yesterday. I'm at work today and I have no idea what I'm doing. I have a feeling I'm on the shit list, and job security should be my number one issue. What kind of scares me is that a new guy started a week or two ago, and when we were talking, he was talking about his interview. When asked, "So, why'd you apply at ?" He gave the "correct" answer that "Oh this company is so great and I've heard a lot of great things about it. Did I mention your company is great?" but then he told me, that the real answer is more like, "Well, you guys are pretty much the only ones hiring right now." So, I guess I'd better suck it up and try to improve my standing here. I've been told it's hard to get fired here, but you never know.

Plus the bad news: Kari's going to be in Texas for the next three weeks, the silver lining there is that she'll probably be home for a weekend or two in there.

Well, it's time to work the voodoo that I do...

I'm here! I'm here!

Well, finally I'm updating my blog, not because of so much the e-mails and taunts to do so, but because I finally have time.

Saturday shit hit the fan, so I got a wake-up call @ 7:40. I started poking around with that (which is a pain to do on a laptop) and by 11:30ish, there was still no solution. So, 11:30 I get a call from my boss calling me into work, because he wasn't getting answers to what was wrong and how we were going to fix it. I grab some Taco Bell and head in. Four hours later, we have the program fixed and I'm headed home. I'm beat at this point as I was up late after watching some HS football and all that jazz. So, I crash for a few hours waiting for a call from Kari to go to her dad's 50th (Apparently I went in on a R/C corvette and a gift certifcate for the bar). Afterwards we were up late going through the birthday cards, it was a great time.

Sunday I woke up with a brick in my throat and my head pounding. I was hoping this was something I could sleep off, but when I awoke again at 5pm, and still feeling shitty, I knew I missed the movie with Hez and I felt bad about standing her up, but I couldn't have made it through the movie without coffing every few minutes. So, I got some water and went back to bed.

Monday, my throat was still bothering me, so I was a little late getting into work, was really tweening between work and calling in. I don't even really remember Monday, just that it was busy from the implementation over the weekend and trying to figure out what went wrong and how to fix it.

Today was just like Monday, only I'm getting out of here on time for once. I've had these new hours (7 am - 3:30 pm) and I haven't left @ 3:30 yet. So, that's been pretty much it for me since I've last been heard of. Been busy, far too busy to update, as I'll probably only update from work.

On a side note, I somehow won Fantasy Football on Monday night, where I clearly should have lost that match. But hey, a win's a win! Too bad the Packers couldn't pull it out, I would have like to have seen the Packers win too. Next weeks opponent is Got Smulka? They're a tough team this year, usually his team has a few sleepers that come through in the crunch, but this year they've all apparently gotten out of the right side of the bed and are play like madmen!

Good luck to all, and wish us luck on our final V-ball game of the season.
Next year, I'm thinking of a Hez/Mark/Riz (and significant other) team for the summer league....any interest?
