Panic Button

has officially been pressed. My manager just came over with a form that was titled "Personal Change/Termination" asking for my badge number. At least it wasn't pink. The logical side of my brain says, that this is for the promotion that I've been dancing for. The other side says that I've screwed up just enough times that now they add up to a termination.

This is the crazy that is the Riz.

The Rasslin' Show!

Well, I'm sure you've been sitting on the edge of your seat waiting for this one. Probably everyone who reads this knows I went to a wrestling show this weekend at the Whitewater Armory. We started by eating and having a few drinks at "the Downstairs" in Whitewater. Pretty good burgers, but the bun could have been improved, it was more of a roll than a bun. So, will full bellies, we were off to the Armory, a scant block and half away. The Armory reminded me of the old highschool gym, only without the bleachers. There was about 100 or so people there, so it was an ok turnout. I was surprised how many youngsters were there, but I guess it makes sense. The show itself was alright, the best part about this whole thing is that you're voice can be heard. Our crew were shouting and hooting and hollaring, so pretty much everyone in there could hear us. We were sitting behind one of the wrestlers grandparents. They were pretty funny too, while their grandson was getting beat on they'd tell the bad guy "Hey stinky, you're a meanie." It was good. The show itself suffered from a couple of problems, the worst of it was the intermissions. The entire show was about 2 hours and 6 matches. After the first three matches, they took about a 30 min break, which killed the crowds buzz, who were really into it. Then after two more matches, another fifteen minute intermission followed by the last match. The last match consisted of the two guys from the fifth match and two more to make it a tag team match. The last match was alright, except for the four missed "hot tags." For those of you who don't know what that is, it's in a tag team match where one of the guys is getting worked over by his opponents and taking a real beating. The "hot tag" is when the tired, beat down, barely able to stand guy reaches ever so far to make that tag, to get the fresh guy, who's been getting worked up over the pounding his teammate has been getting. Then finally the tag goes off and the fresh guy cleans house and the crowd eats it up. So, I'm ok with that, I'm even good with the near "hot tag" (where the other guys drag him back preventing the tag), but by the fourth hot tag, I could care less if they won or lost. I think they were trying to get too much out of the crowd. All and all a good experience, playing along with the wrestlers and such was great, I almost lost my voice from all the yelling. Afterwords we went back to the Downstairs and it was fairly smokey. So, after all that my throat was very sore, but it's all good now.

Sunday I slept in, didn't get back from the show until about 2 am. Early afternoon Kari and I went looking at houses, there were two open houses we wanted to hit. We started late and went to the wrong house first, so we missed the other open house. The one we did see was asking 190k, when his neighbors bought theirs for 175k & 180k. Good luck to him with that. The house layout was pretty good, the secondary bedrooms were kinda small, but the interior design sucked major ass. The countertops, bathrooms and wallpaper were all poor in color choice and they weren't even consistent. The kitchen has green countertops, one bathroom had mint green tiles, a bedroom was pink, and all sorts of mismatches.

Still a little tired today, I've got to start going to bed earlier so I can get up better. I'll catch y'all on the flip side.

Slow and Steady

Hey, what's this?? a new update?? How strange....

Umm... you'll be happy to know that my finger is a lot better, making typing a lot better. Last Wednesday a few people went to see Jake and Laura and Isabele (of course!). That was a lot of fun, Dos Gringo's was pretty good, wasn't impressed with the food there, but I will recommend Laura's salsa, mmmm....tastey. Going to have to drag Kari up there for a visit. Jake & Laura's house is in a usually in a state of flux, just getting better and better each time I see it.

Not too much else happened this weekend. I missed out on a chance for fun and games. I left my phone on vibrate from work on Friday and left poor Hez all bored Saturday night. I did take a good nap, and at around 11ish had some late dinner with Kari. Sunday was more laundry and chillin'. Not really ready to be here at work today, but I don't feel a productive day today. Which is really too bad, being as we are doing our month implementation this week, and things have to get done. But don't worry about ol' Riz, his disdain for working late is greater than his monday morning sloth.

Too bad about the Colts this weekend, I could have sworn they had game, but I'm thinking the Steelers might have spiked the Colt's gatorade.

Well, that's about it from here.....going to a wrestling show this weekend, should be fun.

My Finger Story

On the flight out my finger was bothering me a little, no biggie, maybe I hit it on something. Between Saturday and Sunday it was starting to hurt pretty bad. It was suggested that I go to an Urgent care, but we did WebMD first. We kind of got two answers, one was to wait it out and the other was to see a doctor within a day or so. So, I on Monday we tried a private urgent care that wanted $200 up front before anything and it was still a 2 hr wait. We tried another urgent care inside a hospital, again a 2+ hr wait. So, I was going to tough it out until doctors got back on the 27th. I took some Tylenol and all was fine, still swollen, but I wasn't in pain. Monday night, I was dying and we tried the hospital urgent care, and still 2+ hour wait, so my mom asked and there was a newer hospital and we could try their ER. We got there about 12:30 and saw a nurse, who took the background and got me to see the oncall doctor. She wanted to call the hand doctor to confirm what to do. He came in and checked out my hand, he was going to operate in that room, but then thought better of it and had me admitted and he got his team up. I was put out, they first put me on some good stuff where I felt really weird, but no pain. And then they added something else which put me out. The gown they gave me was like a medium and I'm not a medium, so the wrong shift got a little embarrassing and that sucked. But I woke up at about 5 AM and my mom was there, I have my IV in one arm and my other arm in a hanging sleeve, which made bathroom breaks more interesting (think ski poles). I slept alot and they did have to reopen it to redrain it. But sleep, taco time and tv were the order. The actual surgery was on my right index finger where at the top joint they cut along the outside and made a sideways T. They also cut open between my thumb and forefinger to flush it out. I guess the infection was dancing around the tendon which would have been really bad if it had gotten in there. So, I've got some stitches on my palm and some gauze around my finger. I was supposed to follow up with the hand guy in Madison this week, but he's on vacation, so I'm seeing his attending tomorrow at around noonish, hopefully to take out the stitches and give me good news. The finger feels pretty good, just a bit sore, I think the cut on my palm is more bothersome than the finger.
