I hate Coldplay!

Couldn't think of a suitible title for this post, then Coldplay came on and it just clicked! Speed of sound has to be the most annoying song I've ever heard, and that's taking into account Der Commisar. Anyway, it looks like this is going to be a Hez-type blog, last updated: whenever.

Last night Volleyball was pretty fun, it was definitely not too much of a challenge, although only having five people made it more interesting. I'd definitely have to give the MVP Ball to Jess. She play a very solid game all night. Play of the night was when Jess was in the setter's position and the serve just barely came over the net. Now, I'm not entirely sure I would have played it as well as Jess did. She bumps it up and over to Mark and he gives me a great set across court. I put it over, but my shot wasn't anything special, just over the net. Also Jess's serving earned her a few aces, probably the most on the night. Which was good for me, just because I didn't mind just hanging out for her serves.

Games night last week was a good time, check out Burrito Eater's page for the results. Although I'm sure you started there and worked your way here.

I haven't been going to bed at a decent hour lately so, I've been going to bed 11 or 12, then to follow that up with getting up at 6:20ish, isn't making a good combination. I'm dragging a little bit this morning and have two more days of work before I get to sleep in.

Kari's dad is turning 50 this weekend, any ideas on what to get him? Or what would you get your own dad for his 50th?

Hey, it is Friday!

Well, T-Minus 6 hours 45 minutes until my wonderful meeting starts and I still have a bunch of stuff to do to prepare. I'm feeling a little better about it, instead of a spanking fest at my expense, I'm going to try to make some lemonade outta this. Well however it works out it'll be over in 8 hours. And then some fun and games!!

Not sure what time the festivities start, but I'm guessing a little trip to boozeland will be involved. Reading Burrito Eater's blog got me hungry for some mushroom swiss fajita's from Chili's. I'm a little scared to see where my eating habits have gone. I know I've had taco johns almost every weekday for lunch for the last month. I always feel a little shame when the people at the fast food place know me by name, oh well, I love the chicken fajita burrito there. Definitely pricey for what you get, but it tastes good and could be a contributed factor to my apparent weight loss.

Well, I've got to get going, but I just wanted to let people who wondered where I was to know I'm still alive and kickin'

Is it Friday?

So, this issue has come up at work. In a testing region, they're running 10 times the number of claims (claim processing is where I program) using about a third or fourth of the system resources. Basically what this means, is that it makes the inefficiency in our little part of the system stand out like a sore thumb. So yesterday, my manager let me know that I'll be hosting a meeting with his boss and a few others to discuss this, but the true intent behind the meeting is to let the blame fall on mine (and now another guys) shoulders. Now this isn't really our fault, but the thought is that if we knew it was ineffcient, we should have done something about it sooner. The thing of it is, you can just go and change it, there has to be a reason behind it, so it was working, not as good as it could, but we didn't have any real reason to change it. Now that this problem has been exposed, it's now time to visit how we can improve this. Sound good? I hope so, that's basically what I'm telling my manager's manager. And by the way, my manager's manager and I don't really get along, so this should be fun. Gah, I'm starting to think maybe looking for a new job wouldn't be such a bad idea for me, you know, kinda beat the rush?

Well, enough of that, just wanted to vent a little. Got some volleyball tonight, should be interesting, I hope we get a full team. I'm sure Burrito Eater will pull through with the bodies, but I'm hoping they snag the victory in timely fashion!

Games this Friday, well, 80+ hours till the weekend!
