Let's try this again...
We went to Samba last night and I was a little disappointed. I don't think I'll go back on restaurant weeks. I believe we had the same cuts of meat that my friend Mark did, but it was really crowded. Which meant that some of the meat was undercooked. The first jerked chicken I had was pretty much raw in the center. I'm not talking pink from just being a little undercooked, I'm talking purple, so that was kinda gross. The first time sirloin came to our table the gaucho said that it was basically raw in the middle and that he could go have it cooked and brought back. We had him do that, but it was still a little undercooked.
Once people started leaving, the meat was a little more cooked, I finally was able to enjoy a jerked pork, which was alright.
I believe we weren't seated optimally for food either. We were kind of off to the narrow side of the staircase, which for most of the gaucho's broke the other way to server the greater masses. Which meant that the sausage and lamb guy had been to our table three times before we saw the flank steak once and then it was still some time before the sirloin guy came by. So, I would guess it took easily over an hour before we saw sirloin, which just kinda sucked. The good part was that our waitress was doing her best to make sure we got the cuts of meat we wanted.
I don't know what it was, but I did not have a good time at Samba and didn't really enjoy my food. I was thinking about how much better it would be on the cruise (10 days). I don't know if I need to go back to Samba this year.
Well, I don't know that I'll start blogging regularly again, but we'll see how it goes. Mark relighting a new blog has caused a little inspiration.
